What is Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine?

Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine has been around for 1000's of years.  This medicine is extremely very well documented and is all about helping find the harmony and balance within the body so that it can be it's strongest and heal itself.  In TCVM, each patient is treated as an individual, the practitioner, your vet, understands that each body has it's own chemistry.  A good veterinarian who is certified or trained in Chinese Veterinary Medicine is PRICELESS!!!!

TCVM  has 4 core modalities:

  1. Acupuncture - Helps bring the body into balance, align the bodies energy meridians, alleviates pain and inflammation,  stimulates healing, and can help initiate muscle memory
  2. Herbal Medicine  - A well trained Chinese Medicine veterinarian is amazing with herbs and can help strengthen your pet's body and help them recover, and improve quality of life.
  3. Food Therapy (food is medicine!  Certain foods can make conditions worse, cause inflamation, and pain, while other foods can actually help the body heal, and boost the immune systems, and stimulate the healing process.
  4. Tui-na Massage Therapy - Helps the body heal and can help stimulate muscle memory, strengthen and recovery

Where to Find a Vet Trained or Certified in TCVM

Please NOTE, a vet certified in TCVM does not replace the NEED to be diagnosed by a Veterinary Neurologist.  Once your pet has been properly diagnosed, your Holistic or Chinese Veterinary Medicine Vet will work WITH your neurologist and any other members of your veterinary team including your regular vet, or your physical therapist or internist.
